Research Interests
Scientists at OMRF have been working for many years with families in which more than one person has systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) in efforts to find genetic factors that may increase the risk of developing disease. These studies have identified several promising regions of the human genome, each containing dozens of genes. My work focuses on narrowing each region of interest and finding the specific genetic defects that increase lupus susceptibility.  I also have a particular interest in identifying the genes involved in early onset SLE.

Joined OMRF Scientific Staff in 2002.
