North Carolina's Animal Models Core Facility
|
Introduction The mouse is the animal model of choice for the genetic analysis of physiological processes in a mammalian system. The availability of tools for precise alterations of the mouse genome allows generating models for the study of human disease processes as well as dissecting basic biological processes in the context of the whole organism. In order to accommodate researchers from varied backgrounds and with different needs, OMRF has teamed with Dr. Randy Thresher and the University of North Carolina's Animal Models Core Facility. Dr. Thresher and his facility offer extensive services involving all steps from the design to the generation of the mouse model. In addition to the services offered by Dr. Thresher, OMRF's own LARC continues to offer rederivation services. To find out more about the University of North Carolina's Animal Models Core, contact Stephanie Bui or go to www.mutantmouse.com.
